This course is part of the OSHA Outreach Training and attendees who complete
the course will receive a 10 Hour OSHA Construction, US Department of Labor
card at the end of the course. The course reviews the hazards associated
in construction through a review of OSHA regulations and focuses on the
prevention of injuries associated with the hazards. Although you may have
to take this class, I do want it to be of value for you and your safety on
the job.
The
course is conducted using digitally projected PowerPoint presentations,
DVDs, hands on equipment demonstrations, and classroom discussions.
You
may need to take the 10 Hour OSHA Construction course to meet a State
requirement, a Veterans Administration hospital (the VA) requirement, a
General Contractor, or an Owner. You may be taking it to get a better
insurance rate. Whatever your reason for taking the 10 Hour course, I would
like to present it in an interesting, fun, and educational way.
Ken
has taught the 10 Hour OSHA Construction course for years. Ken is also an
instructor for the OSHA Training Institute in San Diego.
Ken
can tailor the class to meet your employees needs. For instance, you may
want to spend more time on excavations, fall protection or scaffolding.
Ken Mushet will conduct the one day, 10 Hour OSHA Construction training, at
your facility on a Saturday.
Spanish safety training is available.
I
could also do a custom course with different topics, as long as the course
topics comply with the OSHA Training Institute requirements.
This course can
cost up to $ 595 a person in the competitions open enrollment courses. By
having the 10 Hour OSHA course at your location, we are able to lower the
cost substantially with lower overhead costs.

Recent
State laws enacted in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Hampshire,
New York, and Rhode Island, require 10-hour construction training for
workers on various sized publicly funded projects. The Veterans
Administration Hospital (VA Hospital) has required construction workers to
have the U.S. Department of Labor 10 Hour OSHA Construction card to work on
their projects.
The 10
Hour OSHA Construction wallet card has a statement on it that This course
completion card does not expire. Some General Contractors and
Sub-contractors may not accept the card if it has been over three years
since the card was issued. Five years is the maximum life of the card to
meet the Connecticut requirement.
If
you just have one person to sign up, a more cost effective option could be
to go to my homepage and sign up for the on-line construction course.
The
course is 10 Hours of classroom time and can start at 6:30 a.m. The course
will last longer than 10 hours because lunch and break time are not
included. Although many workers dread the thought of sitting through this
long class, and would rather have a cavity filled, it will not be miserable
as they envisioned. There are many attendees that actually had fun and
enjoyed it. There are many great safety topics and new material which makes
the class interesting.
There are no
additional fees for course materials or the 10 Hour OSHA Construction
Cards. Wallet cards will not be issued until the company check payment is
received.
