At your location, 10 Hour General Industry Course

This course is part of the OSHA Outreach Training and participants who successfully complete the course will receive a 10 Hour General Industry card directly from OSHA.   The course reviews the hazards associated with general industry through a review of OSHA regulations and focuses on the prevention of injuries associated with the hazards.

The course can be held in one long day, or in a day and a half.  The course can be tailored to meet your company specific needs.  Please contact SHE Solutions, LLC to schedule this course.

This course can be scheduled at your facility.

The course is conducted using digitally projected PowerPoint presentations, hands on equipment demonstrations, videos, and classroom discussions.

SHE Solutions, LLC will conduct the one day, 10 Hour training, at your facility on a Saturday, for the following price:

Up to 15 Attendees $ 2,000 (Includes course materials and OSHA cards.)

Each additional attendee over 15 attendees, $ 95.  Maximum of 50 attendees per class.

This course can cost up to $ 495 a person in the competitions open enrollment courses.  By having the 10 Hour OSHA course at your location, we are able to lower the cost substantially with lower overhead costs.

Another cost savings benefit of an on site course is that your attendees may not have to travel.  Instead, you only pay for the instructors travel.  Although you are allowed up to 15 employees in the course pricing to add value, this course may be cost effective for just a few employees.

There are no additional fees for course materials or the 10 Hour OSHA General Industry cards.

Out of Arizona travel requires a Purchase Order or commitment to pay.

Typical travel costs for a Saturday course for your company (within an hour of an airport that Southwest Airlines flies to) in the Western United States would be approximately $600 - $1,200 depending on the location.  Listed below is the one day, 10 Hour Saturday Course pricing.  Pricing includes travel for training within up to 35 miles of the following cities/ airports at your location.  (Plus additional attendees.)

Here is what I suggest for the 10 Hour OSHA General Industry Course topics:

One Hour:

Introduction to OSHA, including:

■ OSH Act, General Duty Clause, Employer and Employee Rights and Responsibilities, Whistleblower Rights, Recordkeeping basics

■ Inspections, Citations, and Penalties

■ Value of Safety and Health

■ OSHA Website and available resources

■ OSHA 800 number

One Hour:

Walking and Working Surfaces, Subpart D

One Hour:

Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection, Subparts E & L

One Hour:

Electrical, Subpart S

One Hour:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),  Subpart I

One Hour:

One Hour:

Hazardous Materials (Flammable and Combustible Liquids, Compressed Gases, Dipping and Coating), Subpart H

One Hour:

Materials Handling, Subpart N

One Hour:

Machine Guarding, Subpart O

One Hour:

Bloodborne Pathogens, Subpart Z

I could also do a custom course with different topics, as long as the course topics comply with the requirements listed below.

DESIGNATED TRAINING TOPICS

10-HOUR GENERAL INDUSTRY

OUTREACH TRAINING PROGRAM

The 10-hour program is intended to provide a variety of General Industry safety and health training to entry level workers.

Of the below topics, six hours are mandatory and two hours must be chosen from the optional topic list.  For

the remainder of the class, I can teach any other general industry hazards or policies and/or expand on the required topics.

Instructional time must be at least 10 hours.

The 10-hour classes are intended for workers.  Therefore I emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control and

prevention,not OSHA standards.

                                                       REQUIRED COURSE TOPICS

One Hour

■ OSH Act, General Duty Clause, Employer and

   Employee Rights and Responsibilities, Whistleblower

■ OSHA 800 number

Choose at least 2 of the following topics

These topics must add up to

at least 2 hours:

- Minimum One-half hour each -

Hazardous Materials (Flammable and Combustible Liquids, Compressed Gases, Dipping and Coating), Subpart H

Materials Handling, Subpart N

Machine Guarding, Subpart O

Introduction to Industrial Hygiene, Subpart Z

Bloodborne Pathogens, Subpart Z

Ergonomics

Safety and Health Programs

Fall Protection

One Hour

Electrical, Subpart S

One Hour

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),  Subpart I

One Hour

Special Industry Recommendation:

In addition to the six required hours, the groups noted below should also teach the following:

•  Medical / Health Care – 1 hour each - Introduction to Industrial Hygiene, Bloodborne Pathogens

At least ฝ hour each – Ergonomics and Workplace Violence

•  Maintenance - Ergonomics and (if applicable) Powered Industrial Trucks

•  Utility - Ergonomics, Power Generation, and Confined Spaces

•  Office - Ergonomics

Two Training Days as a 10 Hour Course option:

This course is a better learning experience if it is taught as a two day course.  It can be taught as a two day course for an extra $1,200.  You can choose the hours per day split on how you choose to get the 10 classroom hours of training. There is a higher cost for that because it takes an extra day of work for the instructor.
